After Thursday victory over Cholet, Cibona Zagreb suffered 71:88 loss in the 2011 Euroleague qualification elimination game vs Lietuvos Rytas coached by Aleksandar Dzikic.
Cibona got heavily outrebounded by 44:19 and will miss Euroleague for the first time since being one of it’s original teams back in inaugural 1990/91 season.
“We played quite well in the first hald and we expected to continue with that after the break. I warned my players that Lietuvos rytas has pretty strong power forwards, like Katelynas, but we still couldn’t stop them. Lietuvos has been paced by PG Tyrese Rice who had 19 points to along with 6 assists. Off-season acquisitions F/C Goran Suton and G Demonte Harper both had 13 points for Cibona.
