Zagrebački Boćarski dom jučer je bio domaćinom prvog povijesnog susreta amatersko-rekreativnih selekcija Crohoops All-Stars (Crohoops liga) te Filipinos All-Stars (Philippinos Hrvatska Basketball League (PHBL) powered by PINOY 385). Susretu selekcija sastavljenih od igrača nižih od dogovorenih 189cm visine, povodom filipinskog nacionalnog praznika Heroes’ day (26. kolovoza), svjedočilo je 150 gledatelja.

Selekcija domaćina, unatoč tek jednom održanom zajedničkom treningu, otvorila je susret lepršavo i efikasno te brzo na parketu potvrdila klasu povevši rezultatom 13:0. Ipak, isprva vidno fascinirana filipinska selekcija ubrzo se ‘budi iz sna’, te predvođena MVP-em prvog dijela ljetne lige PHBL-a Danielom De Guzmanom ulaže maksimalni napor kako bi susret učinila neizvjesnim.

No, domaćin predvođen trolistom iskusnih rutinera na vanjskim pozicijama, kapetanom Lukom Cindrićem, Grgom Jušićem i Vedranom Bašurom-Vlahekom, kontrolom lopte i kombinatorikom odolijeva agresivnom zonskom pressingu i munjevitoj tranziciji Filipinaca, te nakon vodstva 67:38 na poluvremenu, znalački, tijekom drugog dijela privodi susret u rezultatski ‘mirnije vode’.

Kad je rezultatski već sve bilo riješeno, tijekom posljednje minute četvrte četvrtine, koju su Filipinos All-Stars uzgred rečeno dobili rezultatom 37:38, Crohoops ikona Hrvoje Matorić priređuje show za gledatelje – u kontri sam sebi asistira od table za rijetko viđeno tip-in polaganje! S druge pak strane branič-šuter Filipinos All-Starsa Andoy Torres s krila pogađa tricu s krila za konačnih 142:101.

MVP-em ovog revijalnog susreta proglašen je play Crohoops All-Stars selekcije Vedran Bašura-Vlahek (25p, 11s, 9a). Najboljim strijelcem selekcije Filipinos All-Stars bio je Daniel De Guzman sa 17 poena uz 14 skokova te 4 asista. Pobjednikom natjecanja u tricama Crohoops je legenda Marko Tomasović, osnivač trostrukih prvaka Savica City, ostvarivši u istom najbolji zbroj od ukupno 12 bodova.

Organizatori susreta Marjan Crnogaj (Crohoops liga) i Delmar Pulmano (PHBL powered by PINOY 385) nakon uspješno zaključenog revijalnog susreta pred prisutnim predstavnicima medija nisu krili zadovoljstvo istim, te su izrazili obostranu želju da ovakvi prijateljski susreti postanu redovitiji.

Yesterday, Zagreb’s Boćarski dom hosted the first historic meeting between the Crohoops All-Stars (Crohoops league) and Filipinos All-Stars (Philippinos Hrvatska Basketball League (PHBL) powered by PINOY 385) amateur-recreational selections. The meeting of selections consisting of players shorter than the agreed height of 189 cm (6’3”), which was played a day before the Philippine national holiday Heroes’ day (Aug.26), was witnessed by 150 spectators!

The home team, despite only having held one joint training session, opened the game with ease and efficiency, and quickly confirmed their class on the court, taking a 13:0 lead. However, the Filipinos selection, visibly fascinated at first, soon “wakes up from sleep”, and led by the MVP of the first part of the PHBL summer league, Daniel De Guzman, makes a maximum effort to make the match uncertain.

However, the home team, led by a trio of experienced routiners playing the guard position, captain Luka Cindrić, Grgo Jušić, and Vedran Bašura-Vlahek, with ball control and combinatorics resisted the aggressive zone pressing and lightning-quick transition of the Filipinos, and after leading 67:38 at halftime, expertly, during the second half leads the meeting to result in ‘calmer waters’.

The best scorer of the PHBL selection was Daniel De Guzman with 17 points, 14 boards, and 4 assists. The winner of the halftime 3Pts shooting competition is the Crohoops legend Marko Tomasović, the founder of three-time Crohoops champions Savica City, tallying a total of 12 points.

The organizers of the meeting Marjan Crnogaj (Crohoops league) and Delmar Pulmano (PHBL powered by PINOY 385) did not hide their satisfaction in front of the media representatives after the successfully concluded exhibition meeting. They expressed their mutual wish that such friendly games should become more regular.
