Uz Šarica kao kreatora definitivno svoju priliku mogu tražiti čisti spot-up šuteri Rančić i Ožbolt. Dario je pravi majstor u pronalaženju otvorenih šutera.

I Šarić i Markota trebaju POD HITNO trebaju dozu infuzije u bespoštednoj borbi pod koševima, a njihova “infuzija” Robert Rikić nikako da stigne, unatoč Brajkovićevim obećanjima.

SUMMARY – PROSPECTS: In the encounter between city rivals Zagreb CO and Cibona couple of well known Euro prospects made their performances. Tomislav Zubcic (6’10”, 1990) showcased all of his skills in limited minutes. On offense he scored all of his 4 three-point tries. On the defensive end he was aggresive in the each moment of his limited minutes. Dario Saric (6’10”, 1994) was evidently tired from the trip from USA and thus he missed a couple of easy lay-ups, but his overall performance was a standard one, displaying creativity on a couple of occasions when he was set to direct the offense. Eurohopes.com #1 for U16 category F/C Marko Arapovic (6’9”, 1996) played the last minute of the game for Cibona Zagreb guarding Dario Saric. He is still evidently too young for senior competition especially for positions 4 and 5. But his long arms for 16-year old make him a very interesting prospect.

2011 Adidas Eurocamp Logo

In front of as much as 8 NBA GMs and numerous NBA executives present at 2011 Adidas Eurocamp, Croatian prospects managed to put together a decent display of their overall basketball skills and IQ over the past weekend.

On Sunday, Croatian U19 team led by Boris Barac’s 32 points (6-6 from three-point line) shot 60% from the field and dismental Serbian U19 team by 65:86 (17:24; 16:16; 21:22; 11:24). Croatia was without phenom Dario Saric who was sidelined with minor back problems.

According to Vecernji list/Drazen Brajdic strugling Croatian powerhouse somehow managed to pay it’s growing debt to potential draftees Zubcic and Radosevic just before contract deadline.

Rough estimate is that the two have received just around 200.000 US$. Compesation claim for European teams amounts 500000 Euros for each of the players, while the same figure for NBA teams is a bit lower at 500000 US$.

Cibona has made this move just before run out of the contract clause which would enable both players to freely leave in the case of the more lucrative offer which both have received lately.

Both Zubcic and Radosevic have attended NBA workouts for the last 2 weeks and will be eager to showcase their skills on this weekend’s Adidas Eurocamp elite gathering in Treviso, Italy.

According to a undisclosed scouting source “Sixers could use their 2nd round pick on a Euro sleeper. Zubcic shot lights out at the workout in Philly and showed off his fluid athleticism, ball handling ability, and range shooting ability. He is said to be a 1st round talent who will drop because his contract runs through 2014. A name to keep an eye on.”

Both Zubcic and Radosevic share the same agent who has been very clear about his intentions regarding the two: “If they are succesfull in Treviso we will stay IN. Otherwise we will decide to go OUT.” NBA Draft early entry withdrawal deadline is scheduled for June 13th 2011 (5:00 p.m. ET).

Third and the most exponated of Cibona “Young Guns” trio, talented G/F Bojan Bogdanovic has reportedly leave for U.S.A. where he will attending series of workouts in the next couple of weeks in an effort to increase his current Draft stock.

Interestingly enough both Zubcic and Radosevic could face elite Croatian U19 squad (feat. Saric, Hezonja and Mavra), which will be the special guest of 2011 Adidas Eurocamp.

Zubcic has reportedly visited Detroit, Boston, Milwaukee, Philadelphia and Los Angeles while continuing to impress various NBA executives with his unique combination of size and skills, highlighted with the excellent shooting touch from the perimeter.

According to the scouting source close to CroHoops.com “interest for Zubcic is growing up each day. Right now we (scouts) are trying to find even more details about his private life. His name is likely to be on the board.”

VRBANC (CIBONA) vs DRAPER (CEDEVITA)

Cedevita Zagreb managed to exploit it’s homecourt advantage and gain 1:0 lead over local rival Cibona Zagreb in the semifinal clash of Croatian Championship.

Led by virtually unstoppable PG Dontaye Draper (20 points, 7 received fouls), who was able to find all possible cracks in Cibona defense,  Cedevita was relatively convincing in the first half of action.

However, on the wings of the phenomenal 21-year old F Tomislav Zubcic (17pts+9reb+3stl+3blk) who was inserted to play nominal point guard position (standing 7’0”!), Cibona managed to rally back and narrow the halftime margin to only 2 points (39:41).

In the second half Cedevita managed to fully insert it’s typical offensive style with Draper distributing the ball to the shooting trio of Wright-Bazdaric-Rudez which was able to convert open long distance shots.

But in the closing minutes Cibona took advantage of Cedevita’s missed free throws (Petrovic, Wright) and was again able to rally back with it’s 22-year old captain Bojan Bogdanovic (17 points, 5-14 from the floor) missing the lay-up and then the desperation three-point shot just before the final buzzard.

Despite Cibona’s PF Leon Radosevic pale performance (6 points on 2-9 shooting, 2 rebounds) general impression is that Cibona should be able to match Cedevita well and will likely continue to exploit it’s obvious rebounding advantage.

Game 2 of the this heated series between bitter local rivals is scheduled for Sunday (20.30 CET).
