RECENT UPDATE: Playing the small forward position, Zubcic sure looked like Andrei Kirilenko at certain moments. On the defensive end he guarded much smaller BC Zagreb guards while on the offensive end he spotted up for wide open spots and often roamed around for offensive put-backs. He was definitely the best player on the floor recording as much as 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 block in just 24 minutes of action. He considerably helped Bogdanovic to ignite the crowd – 31-10-2010 @ Montepaschi Siena: had standard 11 points and 5 rebounds in 22 minutes while proving that not only he can battle with poise for the inside position but he can also hand some playmaking duties. – 04-11-2010 his most briliant performance of the season came in a 85-86 home loss to CEZ Nymburk. While not rushing things at all he was able to score 19 points(4-4 threes) to go along with 9 rebounds in only 29 minutes of action. He demonstrated a great level of confidence and frequently demanded the ball from PG Rok Stipcevic. He will most likely continue to thrive and excell playing the small forward position as the season progresses. For the season he is averaging 22.0 minutes, 11.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 1.0 steal while shooting 54.3% for two-pointers and 44.4% for three-pointers. Actually he has made 8 out of his last 11 three-point goals attempeted which accounts for 72%. – 09-11-2010 vs Regal Barcelona: this was definitely not the one of the versatile 6’10” Zubcic’s strong performances. He missed a couple of open three pointers, easily turned the ball over couple of times and lacked overall intensity on both ends of the floor. However he did showcase his almost limitless potential with a thundering one-handed tomahawk jam in the lane over two Barcelona’s defenders – 26-11-2010 |
