CHICAGO BULLS 2008/09 REVIEW

2008 was supposed to be a rebuild and evaluate kind of year for the Chicago Bulls.

Fortunately, Derek Rose and John Paxson had other ideas. From his first NBA game to his 89th, Derek Rose left everything he had on the floor every night. He performed well enough to win the rookie of the year award and lead his team to the seventh seed in the eastern conference.
Off the court, John Paxson was one of the few general managers to make moves that improved his team while freeing up salary cap space. The Nocioni and Gooden for Salmons and Miller trade not only made the Bulls a legit contender for next year, but also gives them the salary cap space in 2010 to throw money at Dwayne Wade or LeBron James.
Overall, 2008-09 was one HELLUVA season for the Chicago Bulls!

My rookie of the year ballot (if i had one)

1.   d-rose – the truth, already a top-10 PG
2.   brook lopez – the less-funny-looking Lopez is a baller, Duncan comparisons???
3.   marc gasol/OJ mayo/kevin love

MVP

1.  D-Wade – does the most with the least
2.  LeBron – ridiculous stats nightly, surrounded by more talent than Wade, probably wins MVP
3.  Kobe – Pau, Lamar Odom, Bynum are a gift and a curse when it comes to awards

US ECONOMY and NBA Players

A very popular topic in international news these days is the US economy.  As the situation gets worse, many NBA teams will have to make decisions based only on dollar signs.  Some teams will be attempting to bailout, or rid themselves of bad contracts.  All teams will be looking for players of excellent value, a stimulus package.

BAILOUTS – players with horrible contracts
